Vinnie Ream 

She was born in Wisconsin on 25 September 1847 and died on 20 November 1914.

She was a civilian woman who is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.

She composed music, wrote poetry, sang and played the harp. 

She visited wounded Union soldiers during the War Between the States.

She is said to have been about 90 pounds and about 5 feet tall.

She sculpted Abraham Lincoln when she was 16 years old.

She met Albert Pike in 1866 when she was 19 and he was 57.

She finished a statue of Abraham Lincoln which was unveiled on 25 January 1871.

She was commissioned to sculpt a memorial bronze statue of Admiral David G. Farragut in 1875.

She married Lieutenant Richard Leveridge Hoxie in 1878 at the age of 30. Her husband became a Brigadier General by the time he retired.

She became friends with Albert Pike and often met Pike and his daughter Lillian in his apartment in the House of the Temple.

She created a bust of Albert Pike wearing his Grand Commander regalia.

Albert Pike is said to have treated her like a granddaughter and also welcomed her husband as a friend.

A stamp has been issued honoring Vinnie Ream.

Vinita, Oklahoma is named in her honor. The Vinnie Ream Cultural Center was created in this town.
