King Baldwin II of Jerusalem
Baldwin II was the cousin of King Baldwin I of Jerusalem.
Baldwin II supported the original members of the Knights Templar at the former location of King Solomon's Temple.
He was the second Christian King of the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem (or perhaps the Kingdom of Palestine of which Jerusalem was the capitol or court which was one of the Latin States) in 1118, who was approached by nine French knights, led by Hugh de Payns, who offered Baldwin II their services.
He offered these knights lodging in a building next to the Dome of the Rock which was built on the site of King Solomon's Temple, or more correctly, on the site of King Herod's Temple. (See "The Templar Pirates" page 27-28)
