Glutaric Acidemia

(GA1) is a rare genetic disease afflicting children.

Symptoms usually present themselves between 6 - 18 months of age.

The disease causes loss of head control, suck and swallow reflex, ability to sit, stand, or grasp toys.

The child may also have acute loss of motor skills and dystonia after a seizure.

If left untreated, children often die before the age of ten.
