In 1997, the members of the ASERB decided that they would like to have some unique way to display their pride of being a member of both the Freemasons and the ASERB. A committee was formed and after much deliberation it was decided that a lapel pin would be the appropriate way to symbolize our organization and our affiliation with Freemasonry.
Since the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania requires that any organization affiliated with it must conform to its standards a mock-up was designed and submitted to the Grand Lodge for their approval or rejection on May 22, 1997. On July 8, 1997, the lapel pin was approved by the Grand Lodge.
The following are images of the original request, design, approval and the lapel pin.
